About this bike
The CityRide U2 is a compact exercise bike for people who want daily cardio without giving up a corner of the living room. The payoff is worth the habit: the NHS says regular activity can lower your risk of early death by up to 30%[1]. This bike makes that easy to do at home, in a small footprint, without a trip to the gym.
This bike answers the space half of that problem. It has a small footprint, quiet magnetic resistance, an adjustable seat, pulse grips and transport wheels. It also folds, so it can leave the room entirely when the room is needed for something else.
It costs £149.99 including VAT, with free UK delivery. It ships part-assembled, with the tools you need in the box.

Who the CityRide U2 suits
This is a steady cardio bike for the home. It suits beginners, people rebuilding a habit, and anyone who wants a small exercise bike that can live in a spare room, a bedroom corner or a home office.
The upright riding position is close to a normal bicycle. You sit up, you pedal, you watch something. The maximum user weight is 120 kg.
- Good for: everyday cardio, beginners, small rooms and spare corners
- Good for: riders who want quiet resistance for a flat or a shared house
- Look elsewhere if: you want to ride hard out of the saddle, where the Studio Pro S3 fits better
- Look elsewhere if: you need a full seat back and a step-through frame, where the ComfortGlide R500 is kinder
- Look elsewhere if: you weigh more than 120 kg
How to choose a compact exercise bike, and why this one
Compact is not the same as flimsy. A small exercise bike still needs a stable frame, resistance that changes smoothly, and a seat you can sit on for half an hour.
Resistance type matters most. The CityRide U2 uses magnetic resistance with a 3 kg flywheel. The magnets never touch the wheel, so nothing wears out and the bike stays quiet. Friction bikes press a pad against the flywheel: cheaper to make, noisier to ride, and the pad is a part you will eventually replace.
Footprint matters next. Measure the space you actually have, including the room you need to get on and off. Transport wheels let you tilt and roll the bike rather than carry it.
Then the seat. This one adjusts for height, so riders of different sizes in the same house can share it without tools.
Delivery and assembly
Free UK delivery, shipped to your door by a tracked courier. The bike arrives part-assembled, with the tools you need in the box.
The frame arrives largely built. The seat, pedals, handlebars and console are the parts that go on at home, and clear instructions are included. You do not need any tools of your own.
Typical delivery window: [confirm]. The courier agrees a day with you first and sends tracking before it arrives.
Care, storage and folding
The CityRide U2 folds, which is what makes a small exercise bike genuinely small. Close the frame, tilt it onto the transport wheels, and roll it against a wall, into a cupboard or behind a door.
That is the whole trick to living with a compact bike: if moving it is easy, you will actually move it, and the bike stops being furniture you resent. If folding it away turns into a chore, you will leave it out, and then the footprint is the only number that matters.
Wipe the frame down after a hard session. Sweat is corrosive and steel does not enjoy it. Check the seat clamp, the folding catch and the pedal bolts every month.
Magnetic resistance has no pads to wear through, so there is very little to maintain. Keep it somewhere dry.
How the CityRide U2 compares
Against a studio bike, the CityRide U2 is quieter, cheaper and far easier to sit on, but it will not give you a standing sprint. Against our mini pedal exerciser, it is a real bike rather than a way to keep moving at a desk.
It folds, like the FoldFit X1. The difference is the riding position: the CityRide U2 is a plain upright bike, while the FoldFit X1 adds a backrest and 16 levels of resistance rather than a simple magnetic dial.
The NHS advises adults to do at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week, or 75 minutes of vigorous[2], and names cycling as moderate, plus muscle-strengthening on at least 2 days a week[2]. A bike in the corner of the room you already sit in is one of the simpler ways to reach the cardio half.
